Low Impact
For those just starting a workout regimen or recovering from injury, low-impact workouts are an effective approach. Our low-impact classes are structured to be just as fun as our regular classes, but easier on the body and joints and a terrific way to get in a heart-pumping workout while reducing the risk of injury.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and chairs are used for seated and/or standing support.
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic activity. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
